Reliable Powerhouse

The 7.3L Powerstroke is a proven engine that powers many heavy-duty trucks. Choate Engineering enhances this reputation with their7.3L Workhorse Long Block. Built for heavy-duty tasks and regular towing, this engine is equipped to handle the toughest jobs. With upgrades over the Daily Driver 7.3L including O-Ringed Heads, Billet Flex Plate, Coated Pistons, Fly Cut and Delipped Pistons, Stage 2 Cam, Chromoly Pushrods, and Welded Cam Gear, the Choate Engineering 7.3L Workhorse Long Block is prepared to tackle any challenge you throw its way.

Upgraded Strength and Reliability

Choate Engineering has designed this heavy-duty Long Block engine to deliver a significant improvement in reliability and performance compared to the OE 7.3L. Using CNC blueprinting, Choate ensures precise alignment of the crankshaft with the engine block, resulting in smooth and frictionless operation. The 7.3L Workhorse Long Block incorporates new head gaskets, injector cups, freeze plugs, valve guides and seals, and O-ring heads, while also being fully balanced.

Moreover, Choate Engineering addresses common issues found in the OE 7.3L to guarantee they do not arise with their 7.3L Workhorse Long Block. For instance, the OE 7.3L is plagued with inferior valves that sink into the head, Choate uses brand new valves that exceed the OE standards to prevent valve issues. Excess sand from the casting process is a big issue for the OE 7.3L, causing a clogged oil cooler and water pump failures, thus Choate goes above and beyond to thoroughly clean their 7.3L Workhorse Long Block using media blasting, hot tanks, and ultra sonic equipment to ensure all excess sand is cleaned out. The OE featured powered metal rods which were prone to failure at around the 400 hp mark, this is why Choate Engineering uses heavy duty forged metal rods for their 7.3L Workhorse Long Block. Choate Engineering has not only upgraded the 7.3L, but also prevented any OE issues from plaguing their 7.3L Workhorse Long Block.
