Features Significant Improvements Over the OE 6.7L
The 6.7L Full Running Daily Driver is designed specifically to be an enhancement over the OE 6.7L, and fixes common issues associated with the OE. Among these issues is the Main and Rod bearing clearance problems in the OE 6.7L. Choate's solution involves precision machining to achieve the correct clearances and the utilization of upgraded bearings engineered to withstand heightened stress levels the OE cannot. Another concern is the potential separation of OE 6.7L exhaust valves, which can lead to compression loss and piston contact, resulting in catastrophic engine failure. To avoid this, Choate adds heavy-duty valves capable of sustaining high temperatures without separating. The OE 6.7L engines frequently experience cam tunnel misalignment. Choate fixes this issue by using their proprietary bearings to ensure perfect alignment. The OE is known to spin crank gears, this can cause all 32 pushrods to be bent. To solve this issue Choate tig welds all gear in place.
