Precision Engineered for Reliability and Smooth Operation

Choate Engineering has applied their precision craftsmanship not only to precisely engineer this crate engine but also to improve upon the OE. Featuring full CNC blueprint machining, this engine boasts incredibly precise engineering. Choate mains bore and line hones the crankshaft to align it precisely with the engine block, ensuring frictionless operation. They bore the block back to the crankshaft centerline and hone it to an RA13 finish to further reduce friction. The cylinder block is surfaced to a finish of RA30 or lower to meet or exceed factory specifications in flatness and smoothness for the block-to-head sealing surface. Choate also includes a new rear main seal, new bed seals, a new rear cover gasket, a pickup tube O-ring, and a rear cover. Upgraded pistons, new OE lifters, lifter guides, OE Crank Flange bolts, and the updated 9.800 OE pushrods are also included. Choate's 6.6L Duramax LMM Short Block Daily Driver is fully balanced and ready to power your everyday tasks.

Choate has also addressed common issues found in the OE 6.6L, ensuring they won't occur with their 6.6L Duramax LMM Short Block Daily Driver. A common pain point is the head studs, with the variable vane turbo system wreaking havoc on the head gaskets. Thus, Choate includes head studs with their Duramax builds.
