Precision Engineered for Durability and Reliability

Choate Engineering has applied their precision craftsmanship not only to meticulously engineer this crate engine but also to enhance upon the OE. With full CNC blueprint machining, this engine showcases incredibly precise engineering. Choate meticulously bores and line hones the crankshaft to align it precisely with the engine block, ensuring seamless operation. They bore the block back to the crankshaft centerline and hone it to an RA13 finish to further minimize friction. The cylinder block is surfaced to a finish of RA30 or lower, surpassing factory specifications in flatness and smoothness for the block-to-head sealing surface. Additionally, Choate includes a new rear main seal, new bed seals, a new rear cover gasket, a pickup tube O-ring, and a rear cover. Upgraded pistons, new OE lifters, lifter guides, OE Crank Flange bolts, and the updated 9.800 OE pushrods are also part of the package. The Crankshaft undergoes balancing and inspection for runout. Choate has truly gone the extra mile with their 6.6L Duramax LML Short Block Daily Driver to ensure its reliability and durability.

Choate has also addressed common issues found in the OE 6.6L, ensuring they won't occur with their 6.6L Duramax LML Short Block Daily Driver. A common pain point is the head studs, with the variable vane turbo system wreaking havoc on the head gaskets. Thus, Choate includes head studs, so you don't blow a head gasket. Choate has truly engineered their 6.6L Duramax LML Short Block Daily Driver to be superior to the OE 6.6L Duramax, delivering reliability and durability that can be depended on for your everyday tasks.
