Enhanced Reliability and Strength
Choate Engineering's 6.0L Daily Driver Short Block represents a significant upgrade in reliability and durability over the OE 6.0L Ford Powerstroke. It features new OE lifters, lifter guides, and OE Crank Flange Bolts, along with new Rod, Main, and Cam Bearings. Additionally, the Camshafts come polished and inspected. Choate Performance exhaustively performs an All-Point inspection to ensure the longevity and durability of this Power Stroke Engine. Choate enhances engine strength and reliability further over their Model C 6.0L including but not limited to, Head studs, Valve seats, oil pans, welded crank gear, and harmonic engine balancing. Replace your existing engine with the durable and reliable Choate Engineering 6.0L Daily Driver Short Block.
Meticulously Crafted and Improved Over OE 6.0L
Choate Engineering's 6.0L Daily Driver Short Block is greatly improves and enhances the OE 6.0L. Choate conducts full CNC blueprint machining to ensure precision for the cylinder bore angles and clearances. They main bore and line hone the crankshaft to ensure precise alignment with the block. Then, they bore the block back to the crankshaft centerline and hone it to an RA13 finish. They also surface the cylinder block to an RA30 finish or lower to meet factory specifications for optimal sealing with an MLS gasket. Choate also improves their engine in several ways over the OE 6.0L.
Choate uses high-strength head studs with 230k tensile strength to increase the clamping load of the head to help prevent a blown head gasket. Excess sand left behind from the casting process and clogging the oil cooler, creating bearing issues, the fuel system, and VGT turbo and EGT issues plagued the OE 6.0L Ford Powerstroke. Choate solves this by extensively cleaning their 6.0L using media blasting, furnaces, spray cabinets, hot tanks, and ultrasonic equipment to prevent this from happening in their 6.0L Daily Driver Short Block. Head cracks are another issue of the OE 6.0L. Choate solves this issue by increasing casting thickness in crack-prone areas. It's clear Choate has manufactured their 6.0L Daily Driver Short Block to be a significant improvement over the OE 6.0L
