The 5.9L Cummins is renowned for its strength, trusted to power some of the toughest trucks out there. Choate Engineering enhances this reputation with their 5.9L Workhorse Long Block. Built for heavy-duty tasks and regular towing, this engine is equipped to handle the toughest jobs. With upgrades including O-Ringed Heads, Billet Flex Plate, Coated Pistons, Fly Cut and Delipped Pistons, Stage 2 Cam, Chromoly Pushrods, and Welded Cam Gear, the Choate Engineering 5.9L Workhorse Long Block is prepared to tackle any challenge you throw its way.
Upgraded Strength and Reliability
Choate Engineering has designed this heavy-duty Long Block engine to deliver a significant improvement in reliability and performance compared to the OE 5.9L. Using CNC blueprinting, Choate ensures precise alignment of the crankshaft with the engine block, resulting in smooth and frictionless operation. The 5.9L Workhorse Long Block incorporates new head gaskets, injector cups, freeze plugs, valve guides and seals, ground valves, and O-ring heads, while also being fully balanced.
Moreover, Choate Engineering addresses common issues found in the OE 5.9L to guarantee they won't arise with their 5.9L Workhorse Long Block. For instance, to prevent catastrophic failures caused by valve seat fallout, Choate machines oversized valve seats with a creased press-fit area. They also tackle the problem of blown-out stamped gallery plugs in the heads by threading the head and using threaded plugs to prevent oil and coolant mixture and bearing damage. Additionally, to avoid potential engine breakdowns due to blown-out freeze plugs in the OE block, Choate includes billet freeze plugs that are resistant to blowouts. Experience unparalleled performance and reliability with Choate Engineering's 5.9L Workhorse Long Block.
