At the core of this build are D&J X-Beam billet connecting rods, a major upgrade over the stock rods, which can fail under extreme cylinder pressure. These billet rods are built to handle high horsepower applications, providing the strength needed to withstand heavy fueling and high RPMs. If you’re pushing for four-digit horsepower numbers, these rods ensure your bottom end stays intact, even under extreme conditions.
Keeping the cylinder head sealed is critical when running high boost, which is why this engine features a fire-ringed cylinder head with custom-machined grooves. This setup creates a superior seal between the head and block, reducing the risk of head gasket failure—one of the most common weak points in high-horsepower diesel builds. Combined with ARP 9/16” head studs, this engine is designed to hold up under extreme boost levels without lifting the head or causing sealing issues. Airflow is just as important as durability, and this long block delivers with a Stage 1 High-Performance Cylinder Head. Featuring 5-axis CNC porting, oversized intake and exhaust seats, and heavy-duty bronze valve guides, this head is optimized for better airflow, allowing your engine to breathe more efficiently. The result is improved throttle response, lower EGTs, and better overall performance, whether you’re daily driving, drag racing, or pushing the truck hard at the dyno.
