Complete Fully Running Workhorse 5.9L

The 5.9L Cummins engine has earned legendary status for its role in powering some of the toughest and most dependable trucks. Choate Engineering elevates this legacy with their 5.9L Full Running Workhorse, designed to meet the demands of heavy-duty towing and strenuous jobs. With upgrades surpassing the Daily Driver model, such as O-Ringed Heads, Billet Flex Plate, Coated, Fly Cut, and Delipped Pistons, Stage 2 Cam, Chromoly Pushrods, and Welded Cam Gear, this engine is primed for top performance. It comes fully equipped for a hassle-free installation, complete with a factory original turbo, oil pump, engine sensors, fuel pump, and injectors. The Choate Engineering 5.9L Full Running Workhorse provides everything necessary to seamlessly install this powerhouse engine, ready to tackle demanding workloads.

Adds Heavy-Duty Improvements Over the OE 5.9L

Choate Engineering engineers this heavy-duty Long Block engine to be a significant leap in reliability and performance over the OE 5.9L. Choate Engineering utilizes CNC blueprinting to line hone the crankshaft, aligning it precisely with the engine block and ensuring frictionless operation. The 5.9L Full Running Workhorse features new head gaskets, injector cups, freeze plugs, valve guides and seals, grind valves, and O-ring heads. Choate's 5.9L Full Running Workhorse is also fully balanced.

Furthermore, Choate Engineering addresses common issues with the OE 5.9L to ensure they won't occur with their 5.9L Full Running Workhorse. In the OE 5.9L, valve seats may fallout, contacting the piston which causes catastrophic failure. To remedy this, Choate machines oversized valve seats with a creased press-fit area. Another prevalent issue is the blowout of stamped gallery plugs in the heads, leading to a mixture of oil and coolant and destroying bearings. Choate addresses this by threading the head and using threaded plugs in their 5.9L to prevent such occurrences. Additionally, freeze plugs in the OE block may blow out, potentially leaving the engine stranded on the roadside or, at worst, with severe overheating requiring remanufacturing. To avoid this, Choate includes billet freeze plugs that are blowout-proof. The Choate 5.9L Full Running Workhorse was designed to be true workhorse that features a hassle-free install.
